The International University of the Caribbean was founded by the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands in November 2005. It consists of two educational entities: The Institute for Theological and Leadership Development and the Mel Nathan College. These entities bring to the University a rich history of educational innovation, high academic and research standards, and a commitment to community engagement. The union of the two entities will serve to concretise their already existing strengths, while providing a platform for expansion and increased impact in the Caribbean and beyond.
The University has pledged to deliver affordable, accredited, tertiary education, to people who have the desire to empower themselves to meet the demands of a competitive global employment environment.
